1st post

Hi - I'm interested in exploring philosophies, religions, political issues and other subjects in that vein.

To this end, I am starting with developing a list of "Canadian Values" and would sincerely appreciate anything that might be added by others as we go.

Canadian Values:

1. do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

2. the practice of religion is largely left to the women in the family- men usually choose not to participate.

3. if your daughter is raped, it is not necessary to kill her to preserve your family honour.

4. if you should wish to blow yourself up and kill some infidels, please beware of promises of 70 virgins. Virgins are in short supply in Canada and are generally reserved for the high school football or hockey teams.

5. if a god needs to be worshiped by a human being, one has to question that god's self esteem.

6. in Canada, there are more do-gooders than homeless people - do you see a solution to the homeless problem

7. beware of people who want to spend the government's money- try to remember its yours.

8. if we increased the minimum wage by 100% to $16 hour, would the definition of whom is poor necessarily be raised by the same percentage so that the do-gooders could continue to harass the government and make themselves look good??

Maybe this will get us started!!!

In the US we have do-gooders for profit

in Canada, the supply of do-gooders exceeds the demand -so they don't make a profit

why do you encourage multi-culturalism instead of assimilation of your immigrants

I also have noticed that when men are the predominant arbitors of religious beliefs and moral values, it is usually the women who end up being abused or forced into senseless submission
